Joseph City Community Plan and Implementation Strategy
The Joseph City Foundation is seeking $350,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending to develop economic and social challenges from the closure of the Cholla Power Plant. The comprehensive plan will be coordinated with the Navajo County Comprehensive Plan and focus on infrastructure, housing, employment, education, and governance, leveraging extensive public input and collaboration with local entities. Key activities include demographic analysis, economic development assessment, land use review, infrastructure planning, and exploration of governance models. The project aims for the Joseph City Community Plan's adoption by December 2025, fostering sustainable growth and community resilience.

02
Navajo County Comprehensive Plan
The Navajo County Comprehensive Plan is a year-long, five-phase process designed to update the county's strategic plan. This planning effort started in January 2024 and will conclude this December. It starts with initial planning and public participation to ensure community alignment, followed by data collection, analysis, and extensive community engagement to establish a shared vision and goals. The development phase drafts the plan focusing on key areas such as land use, transportation, and housing, leading to an actionable implementation strategy. The process concludes with the plan's adoption through official hearings, integrating community input and strategic analysis into the final comprehensive plan.
